I first asked myself this question a number of years ago, and it still finds me at the start of nearly every new season of growth. Who do I need to be to hold what I'm building right now.

This one's short and it's honest. The identity that built your current success isn't automatically built for your next one, and that's not a problem to solve.

The Question That Keeps Returning

Sheila

There's a question I first asked myself a number of years ago, and it still finds me at the start of nearly every new season of growth. In this mini sode, I'm telling you exactly what that question is and why I still have to ask it today, even after decades of doing this work. It's short, and it might be the one thing that you needed to hear before your week gets going.

Welcome And The Week Ahead

Sheila

Hi, welcome to the podcast. I'm Sheila Botelho, and I believe true success is built from the inside out. This mini sode is designed to help you live into what lights you up this week. I first asked myself this question a number of years ago, and it still finds me at the start of nearly every new season of growth.

Who Do I Need To Be

Sheila

Who do I need to be to do the things I'm doing and have the life I want? Who am I being? And here's what I noticed. The level of financial success I'm creating right now, personally, through this current chapter of my work, is something that I've never created before.

Holding New Results In Mind

Sheila

And I caught myself needing to actually hold that in my mind and not brush past it. Like really hold it on purpose, especially in the moments when I'm talking with people about this work. Because here's what happens if I don't.

Letting Go Of Hustle Identity

Sheila

I start reaching backward for an identity that doesn't match where I'm actually standing. I've done high-intensity work for a long time. It was also a different time, a different way of building. I built a lot of what came before through hustle and grind. And, you know, I just want to say maybe I used to be embarrassed by it, but now I'm not because it got me here. However, that said, I'm building differently now. And if you're listening to this, you may be in this exact spot. You built your first level of success through sheer force. And you're standing at the edge of a next level that force alone won't get you to.

Choosing The Stories You Tell

Sheila

The people I work with don't need every single piece of my story to get value from working with me. However, it's important that they know the results that this work creates. So I get to choose which stories to tell, and so do you. The ones from way back and the ones from right now. What matters is the thread connecting them, not the completeness of the record. So if you're in a season where the version of yourself that got you here doesn't quite fit the size of what you're building next, you're not doing anything wrong. You're just being asked to grow into a new answer to an old question. Who am I being? Who am I being now? Keep asking it. The answer is allowed to change.

A Simple Practice For This Week

Sheila

This week, I invite you to notice one moment where you reach for an old story to explain your worth and try telling yourself the current one instead. Thank you so much for being here. I hope you have a beautiful rest of your week, and I'll see you on the next episode.
