On the crunchy days, the ones that stack up and test your resolve, one practice keeps everything moving: the recommit. Drawing on timeless wisdom from one of my early author/speaker mentors, Jim Rohn, this minisode is a short, grounding reminder of where your conviction actually lives and how to find it again when you need it most.

When Days Feel Extra Edgy\n

Sheila

Some stretches of days just have more texture to them. You're doing the work, you're showing up, and still everything has a little extra edge. In this episode, I'm sharing the one practice I come back to every time and the Jim Rohn wisdom that's shaped how I think about purpose, direction, and what it actually means to keep moving. Stay with me through to the end for something you can implement today. Hi, welcome to the podcast. I'm Sheila Botelho and I believe true success is built from the inside out. This mini sode is designed to help you live into what lights you up this week. I want to share something that came through for me this morning on a walk. After a stretch of days that had a little extra crunch to them, you know those seasons. The ones where you're doing all the right things. And somehow everything still feels like it has an edge to it. I've had a few of those in a row

Recommitment As Daily Anchoring

Sheila

lately. And what I keep coming back to when that happens is this the recommitting every single time. So when I come back to who I want to be, how I want to live, what I actually want to feel, everything changes for me because that commitment is where my conviction lives. And I want to say that again because I want you to consider this for yourself. When I come back to who I want to be, how I want to live, and how I actually want to feel, that's where my conviction lives. And conviction is what makes follow-through possible on everything. Whether I have a full calendar or a wide open afternoon.

Jim Rohn And Setting The Sail\n

Sheila

Jim Rohn said it in a way I've never forgotten. He said, it's not the blowing of the wind that determines your destination, it's the set of the sail. The same wind blows on us all. I had Jim's audio tapes back in the day in the 90s. I know the cadence he used when he said it. And I've carried that idea with me for years, making it my own along the way.

Rest Days Still Count\n

Sheila

Because what I've also found to be true for me is that some days I want to drop the sail and crawl into the hull of the ship for a rest. And then some days I want to pull the whole sailboat up onto the beach and just lay out in the sun. And sometimes I want company, and other times I want to be all alone on that boat. And all of that is allowed. The sailboat is still there through all of it. My purpose, my meaning, what I'm building. It's mine to sail. And so I sail it. Some days with the full wind in the canvas, some days on a gentler current. And some days we're totally at rest, just pulled up onto the beach. But I sail it regularly. That's the recommitment. Coming back to the boat every morning, even on the crunchy ones and choosing to sail.

Five Minutes To Choose A Feeling\n

Sheila

So I invite you to take five minutes today and write down how you want to feel by the end of this week. Then let that be the thing you recommit to before you open anything else.

Vision Map Invitation And Closing

Sheila

And if you want a framework to help you get clear on where you're headed and how you want to get there, I've got something for you. The vision map is a guided tool I created to help you define your direction so that every decision you make has something solid to come back to. You can find it at sheilabotello.com forward slash map or in the show notes. I'll see you there. Thank you for listening. Take good care of yourself this week. I'll see you back here soon.
