There was a time I made a big shift in my business that left a few people scratching their heads. It wasn't trendy, it wasn't shiny, but it worked. And not because I was following some kind of rule, but because I followed a vision. In this solo episode, I'm sharing why some of your boldest, most visionary moves won't make sense for others at first, and why that's actually a sign that you're onto something iconic. I'll walk you through what I changed, how I anchored myself through uncertainty, and the surprising ripple effect it created in my life and my business. And if you've ever been the only one in the room who gets what you're building, this episode will feel like a warm, grounded exhale. Hi, welcome to the podcast. I'm Sheila Botelho, holistic business strategist, creator of the Season Success Method, and your guide to growing success from the inside out. Today's episode is for the quiet visionaries, the ones building from the future, not from the feed. The ones who are leading with intuition before they have any evidence that it's going to work out. The ones who know that their soul is saying yes to something, even when the world hasn't caught up yet. I want to take you behind the scenes of a pivot I made in my business that didn't make a lot of sense to most people at the time. Even some of my peers questioned it, and yet it became one of the most strategic and sustainable moves that I've made. Let's talk about how I restructured my coaching offers to match the lives of the women that I work with. Because the truth is they are not brand new to business anymore. They are mid-six to seven-figure founders with full lives and complex decisions to make. Over the last five years, it became really clear to me that while they loved live coaching calls, their schedules no longer made those calls easy to prioritize. And so I noticed that they'd be missing them. This pattern emerged where these women weren't falling off of these calls because they didn't care. It was simply that they were evolving and sometimes very quickly and their needs were shifting. And here's where the visionary move came in. I stopped forcing a traditional model that didn't fit my clients. Instead, I started offering Voxer Coaching and a private podcast library that answered the questions they were actually asking in the moments that they needed the answers the most, whether it be on their morning walks, in the carpool line, in the middle of their day, before a pitch or a team decision. And sometimes even in those really quiet moments when they couldn't sleep at night and they just knew they needed to figure everything out. It wasn't what everyone in my field was doing, and it didn't look like the right way, but it was right for them. And in turn, it became right for me. They felt seen, supported, respected, and they got better results because they were receiving aligned support in a way that honored their time and energy. And that's the first truth I want to anchor in for you today. Just because something is unconventional doesn't mean it's ineffective. Sometimes it's the unpopular pivot that becomes the most sustainable and successful one. Now, how do you stay anchored when you're making those bold moves? Because truly, even when you know it's the right decision, you feel it in your gut. There will be days when doubt creeps in, when results take longer, and you think, should I go back to the way I was doing it? When people question you, truly, you're questioning yourself. And this is life. This is being human. This is where I tend to, when I'm in my best mood, return to my creative rituals. The ones that hold me steady when the vision feels ahead of the moment. So this looks like very often for me my morning walks with no phone, no inputs, just me, the fresh air, and my own thoughts. Sometimes I'll record voice notes to myself, and they're just for me. They're not for anyone else. So that I can come back later, sometimes weeks or months later, and hear where I found myself on that day. Because there are days when I forget, days when I scroll too long, start comparing, days when I wonder if I should just go back to the model that worked several years ago. But then I listen back and I remember why I'm building it this way. I listen to the passion in my own voice, the clarity in my words that typically comes right after having a conversation with a client who's telling me where they're at. I feel the peace in my nervous system when I do this. And that's how I know I'm still in alignment, even if the numbers haven't caught up yet. So if you're navigating a pivot or building something that no one really gets yet, I want to encourage you to create a practice of documenting your own truth. Whether it's journaling, voice notes, or video logs, give your future self the gift of reminders from your past self. Because the world might not remember what you said, but you always will. Now let's talk about what happens when you lead from vision instead of fear or comparison. This is where the real shift happens in my clients. When they stop building reactive offers or doing what everyone else is doing and start tuning into the unique frequency of their own legacy. And this is so interesting to witness because whether these are people who are in a brick and mortar type of business, where it's a service-based business of some kind, they're seeing people in person, they're seeing people online, or if they have a product that they have out in the world and they're serving clients in that way, or they may have a number of products, it happens to everyone, no matter what type of business that they have. And what I've noticed is when they stop building reactive things and doing what everyone else is doing, and just looking at all the trends and saying, okay, how do I hop onto a trend? Even though that is a very important piece of this, like we do look at trends. It's more how do we differentiate ourselves inside of the trend or in spite of the trend? And this way, people then start tuning into their own unique frequency that they have. That's when things open up. They get bold, they name their frameworks, they create content that sounds nothing like what's trending and everything like them. The products they have out on the market are truly unique to them. And their audience feels it. The right clients lean in, the aligned opportunities show up, and as a result, their team even grows stronger because they get so lit up by watching what's happening right in front of their eyes. Because when you lead with clarity, you attract clarity. This is also when their voice deepens. They speak with more conviction, they stop seeking validation and they become truly magnetic. And I know we throw that word around a lot right now in the online space be more magnetic and magnetize the opportunities to you. But it really is a principle I've seen in practice with my clients, I've felt it myself very, very recently and over the years, even before I knew what it was, I can look back and point to the magnetism that has brought certain uh things into my life. And the best part is my clients are doing this without burning themselves out because when you no longer are fighting your own rhythm, everything becomes more sustainable. You are truly working in flow. Now, let me take you into a more personal angle of visionary leadership. My kids have always seen their parents with a business. They've watched me voice note clients while stirring dinner. They've seen me recording podcasts right after a workout with a messy bun on top of my head. They've made me tea between coaching calls. And when they were younger, they didn't totally understand what I did. Of course. Like, did we ever really understand what our parents did when we were kids? But they did know, okay, mom works from home. She talks to people, she's almost creating something. But now, as they step into adulthood, they see it. They understand what I've built and why I choose to build it this way, how much care I've poured into every piece. And I'll never forget the moment my son joined me on a podcast to talk about consistency in morning routines a while ago. He was in high school and he showed up with insights that mirrored things I'd said years ago. And it reminded me our legacy isn't just in the lives we touch through business, it is in the daily modeling of our vision. And it's extra funny when they decide to mimic me when they may have seen me doing a live stream or they've heard me on a call with a business bestie and they mimic the way I talk. And it's the cutest thing ever. Even at this age, I know it's a total form of flattery because they also are very quick to say how much they appreciate what their parents do. And, you know, they'll even say, you know, they're proud of us, which is really cool to hear from your kids. Because of course, we're always telling them that we're proud of them. Truly, when you build something quietly, consistently, and courageously, eventually the people who matter will understand. And their understanding won't come from what you said, it'll come from what they saw you live, the authentic way you show up in the world and the messy way. That's another thing my kids have witnessed. They've witnessed us both on the good days and the not so good days, but they've seen us get up and try again and have that optimism for what is to come. And that's what I'm hoping they will carry with them through their life also. I feel like they've got it, they've got a great work ethic. We've done our best to model it for them. And yes, it's been imperfect, but it's really beautiful to watch them grow into themselves. Now let's close with this. I deeply admire the quiet visionaries, the ones who aren't chasing visibility for the sake of it, the ones building with integrity over urgency. I love looking at artists and actors and musicians. So I'm thinking about people like Alicia Keys, Denzel Washington, Prince, Sandra Bullock. I just love her humor. Artists and creatives who've held their core message through decades. They've evolved, of course, but they haven't waffled. They speak clearly, elegantly, with humor and with presence. They don't perform for attention, they produce from conviction. And that's something I try to bring into my own leadership as often as I can. I love having models of people from different industries, different parts of life, different eras, because we have so much to learn from each other. And it really does help us tune into those things that are most important to us without looking like carbon copies of each other. You do not have to shout to be heard. You don't have to post every single thought to be relevant. You don't have to respond to every trend to stay visible. It's interesting. I recently saw something where Denzel was having a conversation with an interviewer and they asked if he was afraid of being canceled or if he thinks about that. And he looked perplexed and he said, canceled. And of course, I'm not going to quote word for word here, but he said, canceled. You know, how about just don't sign up? And I thought that was so genius. Because I think we have this idea that because our work is in the online space, even if we have a traditional business, we're marketing online. That's just how we do things now. We have this feeling that we're on a platform, we have to speak about all of the things that are going on in the world or in the marketing space, et cetera, et cetera. And it's a lot. I mean, goodness, it's more than a full-time job to keep up with various trends. That's just one piece of it. And so it goes back to what is our true purpose? What helps us really stay in a business that's growing? And how do we actually continue helping the people we're here to serve? And it's one word focus. The way we get focused is first to be clear on what is our purpose here? What is the work that is meant for us? And when we do that, we can literally opt out of needing to subscribe or get signed up for something that people may cancel us from. And it certainly takes a lot of courage to say anything face to face with someone, but also to say it online in front of so many people. But I do love people who will stand for what they believe in, and especially those people who will be so, so focused on the thing that they are here to do. That focus is rewarded. It's rewarded in your relationships, it's rewarded in your wellness. Definitely it's rewarded in your business, also. Like I said before, don't perform for attention. Produce what you're doing from conviction. Really be clear. Use clarity as your currency and let your quiet be your strategy. So if you are in a season of building something that few people understand, know that you're in good company. There is something on the horizon for you just about to break through to the next level. And it's okay to move slower because you get to move at your own pace. You get to speak less and build deeper. You are not behind. You're not invisible. You're literally focusing on your purpose. And if you're ready to reconnect with that purpose, to build from vision and not reaction, I want to invite you to download my vision map. It is a simple guided tool I created to help you get clear on your next move in a way that actually supports your nervous system, your energy, your future legacy through focus. You can check out the show notes or you can DM me the word map at Sheila A. Batello on Instagram because your vision deserves a strategy. And that strategy begins with you. Thank you so much for listening. I hope you have a beautiful rest of your day, and I will see you on the next episode.
