What happens when the leader finally pauses? When the human behind the movement stops pushing and starts listening—to their body, environment, and inner rhythm?

In this solo episode, I share a look inside my personal season of healing and creative renewal. After years of persistent, unexplained symptoms, I discovered what was at the root—and began a deep detox protocol that’s changing everything.

This was more than just physical healing but a complete reframe of how I lead and create. You’ll also hear a founder story about a mindset shift that helped a home stager reclaim her value, raise her rates, and attract premium clients.

Whether you're in expansion mode or quietly navigating a recalibration, this episode invites you into a new kind of success—one built from trust, clarity, and your truest definition of enough.

Sheila:

I thought I was doing everything right Clean eating, daily movement, inner work and still I was exhausted. Turns out something else entirely was silently hijacking my health beneath the surface, and once I stopped trying to figure it out all alone, everything changed. In this episode, I'm sharing how a midlife health reset and one founder's mindset shift unlocked massive clarity and healing. Hi, welcome to the podcast. I'm Sheila Botelho and I'm committed to helping you reconnect to your purpose, elevate your well-being and build your version of a happy, successful life. And I invite you to take a deep breath at the top of this episode and exhale it out at your own pace, because this moment is yours.

Sheila:

We're in this juicy mid-season space, the part of summer where the air is hanging a little heavier, the sun is starting to not linger quite as long and the pressure to perform starts to melt just a bit. And perhaps you may even be finding yourself in this space where you can give yourself permission to slow down. That is what I've been doing, and it can feel challenging when you're used to going really quickly in a lot of your spaces in your life, but it's so worth it. This season has invited me into some deep, sacred pause time, and truly it's one that didn't come from a calendar reminder or a goal tracker. It came from my body. If you've been here for a while, you'll know I am a big believer in the mind-body connection. It's been the center of my work for decades. But over the last several months I've been following a very focused detox protocol something I haven't spoken about here until now because it's taken every ounce of my attention and energy to actually live it and I've been reversing a series of health symptoms stemming from mold yes, mold, so wild and it's been a really long, six-year journey of trying to get to the root of underlying issues that just didn't make sense.

Sheila:

Based on my healthy lifestyle, I have lived as a wellness advocate and integrative health coach, doing all the right things for decades eating clean, moving daily, sleeping well. I've actually been pretty renowned for my ability to sleep just about anywhere over the years, and that has really shifted in the recent years, and still those symptoms persisted. In fact, those were the things that were interrupting my sleep, those symptoms. So I knew I had to go deeper and this is where my sacral manifesting generator, design really came to life. If you know human design, you know that part of my flow as a manifesting generator is to investigate what lights me up, apply it, embody it and then share it. At least that's my one three line. If you understand human design, you'll get what I mean, and I've done that so many times over the years. It's truly the path I always take, even before I knew about human design, frankly.

Sheila:

But this time I couldn't figure it out alone. So I laid down my researcher hat and finally received support from a deeply intuitive and experienced functional medicine naturopathic doctor. And wow, it didn't take very long. Blood work at least really, really in-depth blood work can tell you a lot of good stuff. So I highly invite you to check that out if you're having any health issues. What is your blood saying? On a deeper level like I'm talking deeper than the perhaps annual checkups that you get.

Sheila:

So together we went through testing deep history dives in terms of my health and connection of dots that no one had ever strung together before, and it was clear. Mold toxicity was the missing piece and for the first time in years, I felt a full body. Yes, everything suddenly made sense. So I want to say this to you If you're in midlife actually frankly, if you're at any age, if you're feeling exhausted, foggy, inflamed, disconnected and starting to believe. Well, this is just how it is now.

Sheila:

Please do not settle for that story. You deserve to feel vibrant. You deserve to feel fantastic vibrant. You deserve to feel fantastic. You just need to know where you're at and to get the right mirror to help you see it clearly. And that's what great coaches do, and that's what I've always done.

Sheila:

But sometimes the healer needs healing, and that's the season that I've been in. We truly all need each other. We really really do. We can't all see our own blind spots. That's why having outside help from someone who's deeply aligned and now that I'm on the other side of the most intense part of this detox season I mean, I'm still in it, but we're getting, we're seeing the light at the end of the tunnel I'm noticing something really powerful.

Sheila:

The quieter I get, the clearer I become about everything. I'm savoring simple things again sunset walks with my husband, spontaneous laughter with my boys, open windows, deep breaths, slow mornings and rich conversations. I'm remembering what success actually feels like, not what it looks like, and maybe you're in this space too, where your body, your business, your relationships they're all asking for a softer rhythm. This is something that doesn't set you back in your life. That doesn't set you back in your life. It's not a pause that causes you to lose momentum. This is truly a recalibration that will amplify your next chapter, if you let it, because you cannot create from depletion and you can't expand from burnout. You need oxygen, and oxygen needs spaciousness, you need creativity, you need curiosity. Your next level isn't louder, it might even be lighter. For you, something really cool happens when you slow down and let yourself rest in spaciousness. You start to notice things you may have otherwise missed in your own life and in the lives of others.

Sheila:

And during this quieter season I've received some of the clearest downloads, not just for myself, but for the incredible founders that I coach. Many of them are navigating seasons of beautiful expansion. Revenue is growing, opportunities are coming in. But here's what I find fascinating how, even in growth, these founders want to stay grounded, because they've been in the game long enough to know that with every expansion comes a future contraction. It's just the nature of life and business, and so they want to plan from a place of alignment, not fear. They want to feel a sense of intentionality and peace so that they're not in a panic to keep up, and my advice is always the same Return to your version of success, and the best way to do that is to get quiet, to remember why you started and to truly feel into what it is you want to build, not what is trending, not what the algorithm is saying you should do next, because the truth is, you are the leader and your business will follow the energy that you lead with, and the success we build is often a blend of everything we've seen work for others, which means sometimes we inherit goals that were never ours to begin with.

Sheila:

We unconsciously shrink the value of our work into a box that was never designed for our kind of brilliance, and in doing so we forget the true worth of the transformation that we offer. Now that brings me to a story about one of the founders. I've had the joy of working with someone whose mindset shift changed everything. She was a talented home stager and she had years of experience working with high-end realtors, but in those days she was always on a salary, so when she decided to go out on her own, she thought she wanted to work with boutique agencies small but premium, high-touch firms that valued quality and detail. But when she started her business.

Sheila:

Her marketing accidentally pulled in a different crowd because she was attracting homeowners who were selling their properties themselves online, often on budget-friendly listing platforms, and people in this case were looking to save money. So they saw her as a cost to keep low rather than an investment to maximize their sale price. So, without realizing it, she absorbed that mindset and she kept her rates low because she thought she was helping her clients. Then one day she had a massive realization the value she offered wasn't about saving people a few hundred dollars. It was about helping them make thousands more on the sale of their home. Because, think about it, if you are like many of us who love watching those home renovation shows and like looking at real estate listings, even if you're not looking to buy, a well-staged home is really attractive and appealing, right? So of course, they sell faster, they attract more competitive offers and they increase in perceived value. So that meant that her service wasn't just nice to have, it was actually a profit driver.

Sheila:

And when she understood that, everything shifted inside of her. She started to show up differently in how she marketed herself and she ended up raising her rates accordingly, realizing there were different people she wanted to be working with, and she started approaching these boutique agencies that she'd originally been avoiding, and almost instantly, she was working with a completely different clientele people who valued what she brought to the table and understood that investing in her was actually a way to make more money. She even began to grow her team at that point, bringing on other home stagers so she could take on more clients and not burn herself out, which, of course, I'm a huge fan of Hello. That's why we were working together. It all started, though, with one mindset shift. It all started, though, with one mindset shift, and that was I'm not here to save people money. I'm here to help them make more. How's that for a mindset shift?

Sheila:

So I want to turn that question back to you. Where are you underestimating the transformation that you provide, and where might you be holding yourself back from serving the very people who need you the most that you provide, and where might you be holding yourself back from serving the very people who need you the most because you're afraid to claim your true value, and by this I mean the value of your service? Obviously, you, innately, are priceless. So remember that so important. So I hope you will take a look at that question actually spend some time with it, because it's something we can often breeze by and we don't spend enough time really focused on it. And then we look down the road and realize, had we addressed that question, we may be in a completely different place in our business. I'd love to hear how that lands for you. So feel free to reach out and let me know. You can DM me anywhere, anywhere on the socials. You can also go into the show notes, and there's a little text me link there as well. So I wanted to share with you also that.

Sheila:

I may have alluded to this already, but I'm sharing it anyway in case you haven't heard Monday Minisode. But I am celebrating because there's a lot to celebrate. I'm celebrating my healing, I'm celebrating the brave decision that I've made to rest and to receive, and I'm celebrating this podcast. Now you may have noticed some subtle and maybe not so subtle changes around here. There's going to be some new artwork coming and a new name, but you may be noticing the messaging is a little different. It's deeper and a more elevated vision for where we're going next.

Sheila:

This podcast has always been about connection, about truth, about growing and having the best intentions to grow from the inside out. But as I evolve, so does this show. So whether you've been with me since the early episodes almost five years ago or you're new here, I want to welcome you. I am so glad that you're here. Here is what you can expect moving forward. So, of course, mini-sodes have become a mainstay. We will continue having mini-sodes on Mondays to really drop you into presence and purpose, and we're going to continue having Thursday episodes and they're going to be these soul led solo chats or founder stories and sometimes interviews, so I'll be able to share what's unfolding in real time in my life and business, alongside of some other people's stories. Some of these interviews oh my goodness, I'm just thinking about them right now like really bold, heart-centered founders who are rewriting the rules of business and life. So we're going deeper and I'm really glad that you're here for it.

Sheila:

Before we close, I want to invite you to go back and listen to episode 515, the Founders Pivot, if you haven't already letting your body of work guide what's next. It is a companion to this episode and speaks to that moment when we realize the old way just isn't cutting it anymore and how to pivot without burning everything down. And then also this week's Minnesota, as I mentioned, 516 has a really simple but powerful prompt to help you reconnect with your own truth this season, so you'll find it just below this episode in your feed. So, as we move through August, I'll be over here playing with my creative side, sketching out some new things I'm putting together for you, things that feel aligned, soulful and, honestly, really fun, and at the same time, I'll be remaining deeply attuned to how my body is continuing to heal.

Sheila:

I'm giving myself grace to move at the speed that works best for me right now, and I invite you to do the same for whatever you may be going through, because there's no rush, there's just presence, and each day I can feel this gentle rise in energy and clarity, this quiet sense that something beautiful is unfolding, and perhaps I wouldn't have noticed it had this not happened to me. So I really believe it is happening for me and I have a feeling I'll be more excited by the day. I hope this is the same for you, with whatever you're experiencing in your life right now. If this conversation landed for you and you're ready to connect with your version of success and build what's next from a place of clarity, alignment and true vitality, I've created something very special to support you.
