Most entrepreneurs believe scaling requires doing more—more hours, more offers, more pushing. But in today’s minisode, I share why my biggest leaps in revenue, creativity, and leadership have always come when I’ve intentionally stepped away.

Whether you’re scaling to 7-figures or refining a more leveraged model, what your nervous system and leadership capacity need most may surprise you. I’ll show you how building intentional space into your business season can unlock the next wave of clarity and ease—without sacrificing growth.

Listen in for a mindset shift that will help you reclaim energy, creativity, and influence—while doing less, but with greater impact. This is a strategy I return to again and again, and it’s one of the key pillars of the self-care for businessā„¢ approach that fuels sustainable success.

Sheila:

Most people think scaling comes from adding more, working harder, pushing through, but I've found that the biggest leaps in revenue, in creativity, in leadership, have happened when I intentionally unplug, get out of my usual spaces and create room for what's next to emerge. Today I want to show you how making space outside your business may be the most strategic move you can make this season. Hi, welcome to the Connect with Sheila Botelho podcast. I'm committed to helping you reconnect to your purpose, elevate your wellbeing and build your version of a happy, successful life. You're listening to a mini-sode where I share an insight designed to help you live into what lights you up this week. I just got back from some intentional unplug time this weekend, away from my desk, away from the to-dos, out in nature, and today I want to share why doing this regularly is one of the most strategic moves you can make for your business growth, your creativity and your wellbeing strategic moves you can make for your business growth, your creativity and your wellbeing.

Sheila:

Carving out that sacred time, really unplugging, is a revolutionary act in the world of digital commerce no laptop, no email, minimal phone use and, most importantly, getting out of your regular environment. I spent time in nature, I walked in new places and met people I wouldn't normally meet, just allowing myself to be in a different energy. It really invited in more expansive, open, curious ideas. So what happened? Well, by the time I got back, I was overflowing with new ideas, clarity on things I'd been spinning on and, honestly, a deep knowing of what to simplify in my business this season. And what had felt heavy or complex before was suddenly crystal clear Then, when I was showing up for my clients after I brought so much more spacious energy, which, of course, is going to impact their experience and, of course, my joy in the process of delivering it. So here's why this works your nervous system needs space to reset. Your creativity needs novelty. Your leadership really thrives when you're resourced and expansive, not contracted and constantly overdoing, which is such a cycle we can get ourselves into.

Sheila:

And when you step away from your usual rhythms whether it's just where you work, the things that you do, when you work, you open up the aperture of what is possible. You literally see new connections, you meet new people and you literally change the way your brain is wired to think about what's next. And this is one of the simplest ways to bring back some life into your business without doing more, but actually intentionally by doing less. Because true growth that is sustainable does not come from adding more to your plate. It comes from aligning your energy and focus with what actually moves you forward, and that really requires space.

Sheila:

So here's my invitation to you this week when can you create even one pocket of space to unplug, to get out in nature, to explore somewhere new, to meet someone new or simply to breathe and just notice what emerges Like? Literally, sit in front of a tree, lean your back against it, get your feet on the grass, just be with yourself. Because, remember, the most expansive growth often happens in between all of the doing. Have you ever noticed that, like in the shower, brushing your teeth, making a meal, driving somewhere, your next breakthrough likely won't happen on your next Zoom call. It will happen when you give yourself permission to let everything land from that Zoom call or other conversations and when you give yourself the permission to be in your fullest life outside the four walls of your business.

Sheila:

I can't wait to hear what opens up for you. So until next time, take good care. Thank you for listening. I hope you enjoyed this. Dm me, text me in the show notes.
