If you want deeper love and better communication in your relationships, start by building a deeper relationship with yourself. Most people try to fix their partner before they even understand their own values, needs and communication style, and in this mini-sode, I'll share how learning how you feel seen, loved and valued changes every relationship you care about. Hi, welcome to the Connect with Sheila Botelho podcast. I'm committed to helping you reconnect to your purpose, elevate your wellbeing and build your version of a happy, successful life. You're listening to a mini-sode where I share an insight designed to help you live into what lights you up this week. Have you ever noticed how much better your relationships become when you feel truly connected to yourself? When we take the time to nurture our relationship with ourselves? Everything else seems to shift, from the way we communicate with our loved ones to how we experience intimacy, friendship and even collaboration at work. And here's what I've seen again and again in my own life and the women I coach when you know what makes you feel seen, heard and loved, when you really really know it, you're able to express those things clearly, and that clarity is magnetic In romantic relationships. This has been especially powerful for me and I've noticed that when I've taken the time to reflect on what truly makes me feel valued and I actually share that with my partner. Something beautiful happens. It opens up space not just for deeper connection but for honest, loving, two-way conversations. I'll say things like when you do this, it makes me feel incredibly supported, or what's something that I do that makes you feel really appreciated? And the answers that come up always surprise me, even after being married to my husband for almost 29 years. It is really really incredible because when you ask, you not only show that you care, but you gain a map to love them better, which is so cool because you can think you know someone and then they actually tell you what they're thinking and you realize there's so much more to learn. We change Humans change over time, and that's something huge to take into consideration, because too often we assume that the people in our life know how we feel about them, but the truth is we forget to say it. We're busy, we're managing all the things, but unspoken appreciation doesn't always land and over time it can create distance. So here is your invitation this week Choose one person you love, whether it's your partner, a close friend or someone you work with a lot and you really care about them and start a simple, heartfelt conversation. Ask them what makes you feel seen and valued in a relationship. Then ask them is there something I could do more often that would make you feel more connected to me? And, lastly, what's something I've done lately that really worked for you? Then share your side too.
Sheila:This isn't about getting it perfect oh my goodness, that just does not exist. It's about getting honest and creating space for connection to happen and to deepen. And guess what happens? When you make this a regular rhythm in your relationships? You start catching the moments of growth. You become more mindful of your own patterns Like you start to see them come up. You'll find yourself becoming more grateful, you'll feel more loved and you give more love in return. And then you notice really so many things just start with you, with cultivating a deeper relationship with yourself first. That's exactly what my Embodied Success Meditation and Method is designed to help you with. It's about tuning into yourself your values, your desires, tuning out the noise and choosing how you want to show up.
