Sheila:

know that it's up to you to choose what that is, even if maybe the people in your closest world don't understand it. That's okay. It's okay because maybe you're meant to be running down the beach to the dream that you have, and you're preparing the place for them that they will then catch up and meet you there to enjoy later. Hi, welcome to the connect with Sheila P podcast. I'm an entrepreneur, self-care strategist and creator of the season self-care app. I'm committed to helping you reconnect to your purpose, elevate your wellbeing and build your version of a happy, successful life. You are listening to a solo chat where I'm sharing some insights that go deeper on what I shared on Monday about rest, resetting, recharging and all the things as a high achieving person. So the people in my world the creators, the business owners, the people who are wanting to build the next version of a legacy in their life realize they already have full plates. And yet this experience of what they want to bring to the world, the work they want to do, the movement makers that they are, it won't let them rest, and so there's constant ideas flowing all the time, and so it becomes so important for them to become intentional about rest, as intentional about rest, as they are about the actual business strategy, the action taking, the organic marketing, the hiring, the delegating, the sales, all of the things. It's a big deal, and what makes it even more challenging is when these individuals, who already have created beautiful, successful businesses and lives, want to go for that next thing, that next gold ring, that next vision on their heart that they want to bring to life. Because the people around them typically in their personal life, let's just say very often are doing different things and have different versions of what success means to them. And they may look at these individuals and say when's enough, enough? Isn't this enough for you? You have it good, things are great. Why are you pushing yourself so hard? Shouldn't you be slowing down right now? You're at midlife. Shouldn't you be taking your time? Or you're just approaching 30. You've got all the time in the world. You don't have to rush.

Sheila:

And while all those things are true, they're true for the people, they're true for, but when it comes to you, if you have a dream on your heart, often it will defy anything logical, it'll defy timelines and schedules, time of life, all of those things. And that's why the work that I do is all surrounding the seasons, right? It's the season of your life, the season of your business, the season of your relationship, the season of something that you've already been working on, because everything has like foundational season, and then the growth season, and then the stabilization season, and then sometimes it just stays there for a bit, right? So then it's just the legacy that is built, and then sometimes it just stays there for a bit, right? So then it's just the legacy that is built, and then maybe there's an added on season, maybe sometimes even it's the sunset season where it's time to just say you know what? This has been a wild ride. I'm going to completely pivot and do something different, or I'm going to sell the business. There's so many different ways it looks right. And then, of course, we cannot ignore because this is the foundation the season of your wellbeing, the season of your health.

Sheila:

Sometimes you need to slow down for whatever reason. It may not even be you and your health. It may be a loved one. It may be that you want to slow down because you want to start a family, or you want to spend more time with your family, or, you know, if you're like me, you're looking for more opportunities to make special experiences with your kiddos, because they're like, moving into adulthood soon, or one of them is already in adulthood, and so those times can feel fleeting. And so what season are you in?

Sheila:

That season really informs on what it is you're meant to be doing at any given time and sometimes, like let's face it, the entrepreneur who has a big dream was going for it. They seek out rooms to be in with other people who have a similar kind of ethos of like going for the next prize, serving more, reaching more people, helping bring more transformation. It's because of these people that we have these incredible businesses that employ so many people, that bring people out of the status quo into a place where they can actually use their internal genius and ideas to grow something. So what is it for you? There are ways all the time to be able to go for the thing that you love, and what I'm inviting you into is the idea that you get to rest along the way, but you also get to go for it when you choose, and so my invitation to you today is to think about what season are you in and to allow yourself time to unplug so that you can be stronger going forward, and sometimes that means a weekend away, sometimes that means a weekend off of technology. Sometimes, then, you're able to sprint faster to get to where you need to go. But, all of that said, know that it's up to you to choose what that is, even if maybe the people in your closest world don't understand it. That's okay. It's okay because maybe you're meant to be running down the beach to the dream that you have, and you're preparing the place for them that they will then catch up and meet you there to enjoy later.

Sheila:

Everything is in seasons, and sometimes it's sprint season, sometimes it's rest season. Whatever season you're in, I wish you all the best and stay true to that thing that is on your heart to do. And so, please, if you like these episodes, I invite you to like, comment, share, subscribe, do all the things and stay tuned to what's in the show notes, because I do have the Susan's Growth Accelerator that's accepting new people coming in to help you take the next version of what your beautiful idea is you wanna bring into the world to the next level. This could be the beginning of your legacy business. I look forward to seeing you in there. Thank you for listening, and have a beautiful rest of your day. Big blessings.
