Sheila:

When you are feeling refreshed, feeling clear-headed, you're much better capable of being able to withstand and to move through those situations and to make good choices. Hi, welcome to this Monday mini-sode where I share an insight designed to help you live into what lights you up this week. You give your best to your people and projects all week and by the weekend it feels so good to unplug and refresh, if at least for a pocket of time, and then, as you anticipate the week ahead, you envision what's about to unfold. So you're going about your weekend. You're hopefully mixing in some fun, I'm sure.

Sheila:

In many cases people are busy with families, especially this time of year or friends or other activities. I really hope that you give yourself a chance to rest and refresh and then, as you're looking ahead, it can be either an excitement about what's to come or, for some people, they get the Sunday scaries and they start to wonder oh my goodness, how's everything? How am I going to do everything this week? How am I going to show up? Are things going to work out? Or is it going to be a repeat of last week? Am I going to grow from here? And if it's a repeat of a really great week, that's amazing, but often we start to find ourselves dreading oh no, what is to come this week? And I just want to invite you into something that can help put your mind in a place where you are not fearing what's to come, but you're actually excited about what is going to unfold. When you shift your perspective to what goodness lies ahead, it's incredible what happens to how you show up, and it also allows you to treat yourself really well over the weekend too, because when you're expecting something good to come and hoping for what you desire like placing your focus there you start to take actions with yourself prior to that time with a lot more care. So, for instance, you may still really have a lot of fun at an event, but maybe you'll leave a little bit earlier so you don't get completely overtired on a Sunday, so that you're embedded a decent hour. You get the rest that you need. Or maybe you make a choice to eat a little bit cleaner near the end of the weekend so that your body is not needing to do a whole lot of work digesting foods that maybe it's not used to on the normal for the night before you start into a brand new week.

Sheila:

I found these things to be so incredibly helpful First, thinking about what I want, because, let's face it, our mind can so easily go towards what we don't want. So it is a practice to start really shifting how we're expecting things. And then what impacts our mind is also how our body is feeling, and so the number one thing you can do to start shifting your mind is to start shifting the energy in your body, and something that really helps you get good energy is putting good things into it, so clean type of whole foods and rest and hydration, and so if you're focusing on these things at the end of the weekend, it gives you a little bit of extra power to start your week, because then when you wake up, you are more clear headed, you are more refreshed and you are more open to consider the goodness that can lie ahead. And then, if some things do kind of go off the rails at some point because, hey, this is life, we know that it's always kind of the hills and valleys and we're trying to find that middle ground when you are feeling refreshed, feeling clear headed, you're much better capable of being able to withstand and to move through those situations and to make good choices. So, as you're moving through this week.

Sheila:

This is coming out on a Monday, so I'm not sure how you're feeling today. I hope you're feeling amazing, but this is something you can start even today and it can impact your tomorrow, whatever day that might be so beautifully.
