Sheila:

You do have a choice and sometimes making those tough decisions, it's definitely not an easy thing because you may feel like I'm gonna let some people down. It's something that you can ease into, but if you create a plan to put that into practice, everybody wins. ["wonderful Day"]. Hi, welcome to this live. I hope you're having a wonderful day. We're headed into a weekend right now and it's pretty exciting when you think about all the different things that you can do during your free time, and it really got me thinking about exactly that, depending on where you're located in the world, weather certainly has an implication on the things that you can do on the weekend to enjoy your life, to kind of recharge, and it can also be a time when you have soul work that you do and when you have a business baby that you are nurturing and you're putting all of your energy into whether it is your full-time thing or whether you are doing it in addition to a full-time job, where you are like using every spare moment to put your fuel and your life source into getting something off the ground. It can be easy to use every moment that is on the clock when you are awake to move things forward, and I'm here to share a little thought on that because I'm wondering if that's what you're doing, how's that working for you? We live in a digital society now, right? So obviously we're here on a smartphone. You're looking at me right now, and what's really interesting about this timing in our lives is we can be working 24 seven. So where are you getting your recharge time? Is it just from sleep? Is it just from hitting the gym? Is it just from, like a few different little practices you have in there, so that you can say, look, I checked off my self-care, all right, I'm doing something for me? Where is the white space? White space on your calendar? Time where you don't have anything booked in is what I call magic time, because that is where the downloads come for the things that you can do to move your life forward in the direction that you want. And also, it can really be a time of pause to ask yourself the questions am I doing those things that are really meaningful for me? Do I need to make a shift? Should I look at potentially completely changing how I'm working in my life and work? I just wanna welcome everyone who's joining Hi to this impromptu live.

Sheila:

I had this experience where just recently I had the flu and so I was forced to rest and I all of these plans I had I set aside, and it really got me thinking about the magic of when you are forced to have your mind pulled away from those things that you are traditionally really focused on. And what happened for me and it's happened many times, but it was a reminder and so I really wanted to share it with you like kind of as a public service announcement for your well being, in your mental health, to know that you can get so reenergized, not just in your body from resting, but in your creativity, in your mind and in your problem solving skills and in your collaboration ideas. When you're away from the ordinary, it's like you get away from the tunnel vision and you open up the aperture of what's possible in your life. You see things you wouldn't have seen before, and so I invite you, as you're heading into this, into this weekend, and also as you're scheduling out your coming weeks and months, like if you schedule the quarters, if you schedule like the half of the year or the full year, how are you approaching that and are you building in enough white space or are you being really focused on just maximizing every moment, so there is no white space on your calendar.

Sheila:

What I have found in working with so many women over the years is that these are the things that we almost are groomed to do, without being told to do. That. It's just kind of innately Something that we do in order to keep the pace with what society is expecting, the pace of business, the pace of growth and revenue and profits. We automatically, without thinking, fill in all of the space with action, thinking, productivity at all costs is the solution, and what I've seen when working with these women is that is a recipe for burnout. The number of women who have come to me and certainly I've had many conversations with men in my life to who have burnt out from this experience it's just so common and what's sad about it is that it's common. I do see it being something that can be even more of a challenge with the women in our midst, because they're not just working on their career, their business. They're also holding emotional energy To do the emotional labor in their relationships, whether they are single, whether they're married, partnered up, have kids, have aging parents. They're holding a lot and all of the little to do list items and I'm really grateful for the men in my circles who are really involved and engaged. As you know, helping their partners and their families do amazing things, like my husband is incredible that way, like very engaged and involved.

Sheila:

When we look to history and we look to really what is causing this burnout recipe to happen for women, it is this the expectations are so high they're, frankly, impossible. So here's the cool thing okay, you get to choose. You may feel like I don't have a choice, I just need to. I committed to this thing, I just need to do it, I just need to grind it out. You do have a choice and sometimes making those tough decisions it's definitely not an easy thing because you may feel like I'm going to let some people down by changing how I'm doing things. It's something that you can ease into, but if you create a plan to put that into practice, everybody wins.

Sheila:

And that is part of my work when I'm coaching with women is we really sit down and look at realistically what does their day to day life look like? How are they feeling about it? What if they feel they've been feeling prompted to let go of? And then I help them create a plan to actually put the change in motion. That doesn't feel like a jarring response of just all of a sudden we're flipping everything over and starting fresh. That can be a lot for your nervous system to take in, and that also means it's probably not going to be Sustainable. You'll fall back into the old patterns so quickly Because it doesn't feel comfortable. So we work on a plan of how you can move Into a different way of doing things, and I'm telling you, calendars can be beautiful things when you plan them out according to how you want to feel, including the outcome that you want to achieve. Because, let's face it, every goal we have, the thing that we want to achieve. It's not a dollar value, it's not a thing, it may not even be an experience. It's a feeling that we are after Truly, and so if we can tap into feeling that way more often right now in our bodies, it's gonna help us make choices, to help us feel that way more often, and so we can create a plan to move you through, creating a Schedule with more white space, with more magic space, so that you can actually start enjoying your life.

Sheila:

Because a question for you is this where are you out in your life? Where are you at in terms of your goals and dreams, and how many more years are you going to wait to actually start enjoying your life? Is it only when you reach a certain number in the bank? Is it when you have a certain number of clients? Is it when your influence level is at a certain place? What is the answer that comes up for you? You get to deserve to feel good right now. I just want to remind you of that and I will always be on that soapbox. We get to enjoy our life right now and if you have a plan to help you actually get there in Terms of all of your other goals, beautiful things can happen for you.

Sheila:

So, as you're planning out this weekend, try on for size actually saying notice some things. Try on for size seeing what would happen if you extended your time of rest. Try on what it would feel like to do something just for the pleasure of doing it. There's no like monetary value attached to it. There is no influence value. There is no Value from anyone saying anything about what you've done, like recognition. But what it is is you just did it because it felt good for you. It was good for you and you've been wanting to do it, but you didn't feel worthy of doing it because you had all these other things set in place that you needed to achieve first. You have today, and Usually I mean we have tomorrow, but we really don't know.

Sheila:

So start asking yourself how much longer do you want to wait to start feeling good, and you can create those little incremental steps to help you start getting there faster. So thank you so much for listening today and I would love to hear what came up for you. Were there any enlightening moments that really just landed in terms of, okay, that thing that I've been waiting on doing, because it doesn't feel like there's any value attached to doing it other than just feeling good. This is the thing I want to do. You get to give yourself that permission, and these are things that I'd love to get into in my communities. And If you're wanting to be in a community of people who are looking to prioritize this kind of stuff so that they can achieve these big, beautiful business dreams and goals and Also feel good while they're doing it, then you want to check out the seasons collective, and I suggest DM me the word seasons and I'll send you some more information. So have a beautiful rest of your day and enjoy your weekend. Big blessings you.
